Part of my talk is to 'dream' a little about the world that could be with regards to regulations. I'm trying to come up with a list of things that would be useful, necessary and bring regulations to the modern age. Can you think of other things?
Here are some:
Automatic conversion or summarization of regulations into plain English. There's too much material to do this manually, automation could help.
Analytics and heat maps on each of the regulations so that we know which parts of the regulations are most read, and re-read (in case they need to be rewritten).
Better notice and comment: allow users to select which line, paragraph they are commenting on.
Allow users to leave comments on parts of the regulations that they can share with others
Automatic ways of determing: does this part of the regulation apply to me?
Better writing tools for authors leads to fewer errors, less duplication, etc.
