Online mode, spotify is not working #7

spotify is not working for me and does not search, youtube seems to be working fine tho, what would be the problem?

i have Spicetify running tho

Spicetify UI or CLI? You need to enable WebNowPlaying on Spicetify

Do you need Spicetify UI? I'm currently using Spicetify-cli and have followed the guide here for enabling WebNowPlaying, but am experiencing the same issue

Thanks, I tried that but it still doesn't seem to work. For reference, I have the musicPlayerLocalName set to Spotify, and the musicPlayerType set to local in my config file. The music player shows the right track and functioning play/next buttons, but the album cover doesn't show up and the like button does nothing -- could that be related to the online mode issue?

You need to set musicPlayerType = websocket

When I set musicPlayerType = websocket, searching Spotify in online mode does launch a "spinning wheel" (whereas before it was just the static cloud), but it just searches forever without yielding any results. The "now playing" music player is also now gone altogether.

Thanks for your help though, I'm not sure why this is happening when the youtube plugin works great.
