DesktopSMS doesn't work on HTC Magic

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Connect your phone via USB to your PC
2. Start DesktopSMS on your phone
3. Start the Java Part on your PC
4. Click on "connect"

Result : Nothing happened

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I thought, I could see my SMS and enter new ones

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

I Use Android 1.6 on my HTC Magic

On my PC I use Windows XP SP3 and Google Chrome

Please provide any additional information below

My android phone is a standard Vodafone device
