tex gost.dtx fails, latex needed. #20

Hi - I went to import the new gost release from CTAN into TeX Live. The README says to run "tex gost.dtx", but that fails with ! Undefined control sequence.
l.455 \ProvidesFile
Same with tex gost.ins.

Although latex gost.dtx (or .ins) works (after generating the myriad larm* fonts needed), it would be nice to be able to make the derived files without remaking the doc.

At any rate, I did install the update. It should make it around the mirrors in a couple of days. Best regards.

Hi,

Definitely, to generate documentation and all other stuff you have to run

pdflatex gost.dtx

if you have LH of cm-super fonts installed, or

xelatex gost.dtx

if you have CMU OTF fonts installed. I'll correct the README in the next release. Thank you and Happy New Year!

For TL, I don't want to regenerate documentation. Only create the other derived files (.bst, .csf, etc.). The README says that "tex gost.dtx" should do this. If it's no longer supported, well, I'm sad to hear it ... --thanks, karl.
