STDERR: cp: not found #9

On HTC Desire, rooted, stock Android 2.2 rom

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. run the OpenVPN installer 
2. allow the root access to remount rw and to cp the file into /system/bin
3. error 'Binary not installed - choose Show Log'...

Log says STDERR: cp: not found

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2.1.1 on Android 2.2

I also have the same issue. I am using HTC Desire with official Froyo Rom 2.2 
and I am rooted.

I have the same issue. I am using HTC Desire with official Froyo Rom 2.2 + 
busybox and I am rooted.

Flashed LeeDroid 2.2f rom with binaries installed. I'm now connecting 
flawlessly.

shouldn't you install busybox properly first?

cp is definitely part of busybox and not openvpn - install busybox first.

install busybox first.
#cd /system/bin
#ln -s busybox cp
then install openvpn

I tried the advice in comment 9, and got "Link failed Read-only file system."
What can I do now?
