thanks for the post Kian, just what I was looking for. unfortunately I couldn't get it working.
There were a few typos in the post...

first up I had to change the directive: virtual_alias_domain
to: virtual_alias_domains

Next, /^.* OK is missing the closing / (it should be: /^.*/ OK )
also, /^.*/ OK has to go into the file /etc/postfix/virtual_domains.pcre
(not /etc/postfix/virtual_forwardings)

but, I'm still getting reject messages from postfix "Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual alias table"

I'm afraid I can't help much more at this point. This was mostly for my own information. If I end up repeating it in the near future, I'll update the post to reflect any changes needed.

Thanks for the corrections.

nice and simple to do :) many thanks. quick suggestion. for the code blocks add this to the code css

white-space: pre;
display: block;

so it displays it as it should be written.

Apparently, I'm about 5 years behind you.

I'd actually recommend using smtp4dev now - https://github.com/rnwood/s....

Works everywhere as far as I can tell.
