Bandcamp is already good to go - I'm sorry, didn't realize the README was outdated. Thanks!
Ooo you made my day! Serves me right for not boldly trying stuff and breaking things :) Need any help syncing the Bandcamp feature with e.g. the UI?
I'm not sure what you mean. It should work well with the UI. You will just need to provide the URL to the artist you want to follow. Like: https://dmttapes.bandcamp.com
Oh, I just meant instructions within the app, like this and any related ones:
Ok - yes, this is coming in Fraidycat 2. See #14. Thank you Raman.
Totally fine, and thanks!
Before you start.
My great idea for Fraidycat is: Thank you so much for Fraidycat! I'm a new user and am loving it so far.
My primary use-case is an aspect of quitting Facebook. Friends of mine who create content (blogs, music, podcasts, etc) would publicize their posts on Facebook, from which I'd (inconsistently) hear about them. Now off Facebook, I was worried I'd never remember to check them out periodically. Ingesting their feeds in Fraidycat is like magic for this use-case.
For music, Bandcamp seems most common. Multiple friends of mine create music and use Bandcamp as their main platform. Interest in Bandcamp support is mentioned in the
README
. I wanted to flag my own interest in this feature.I'm a programmer but have written almost zero JavaScript so far. I have done a little Bandcamp scraping (in Python) to help a musician cousin organize her back catalog, so I have a basic sense of how Bandcamp pages are put together. If you can point me to parts of the codebase relevant to the non-RSS platforms, maybe I can figure out whether it would be in my capacity to contribute the feature. Thanks!
