Awesome - thanks that fixed it. Funny I thought the update process was
supposed to handle the dependencies; although it seems like I might have had
GEF disabled for some reason ...

The missing dependency is quite vague, and the package that's missing is not
just GEF, it's GEF All-in-one.
To save people some time in the future, you have to install Graphical Editing
Framework GEF All-In-One SDK (Includes GEF, Draw2D, Zest, and Examples) from
Eclipse repo http://download.eclipse.org/tools/gef/updates/releases/ (I had to
go into my existing Eclipse repos and re-enable this site there first, it was
disabled for some reason).

Software being installed: Android SDK Installer 0.9.5.201012121703
(com.android.ide.eclipse.installer.feature.feature.group 0.9.5.201012121703)
Missing requirement: Android SDK Installer 0.9.5.201012121703 (com.android.ide.eclipse.installer.feature.feature.group 0.9.5.201012121703) requires 'com.android.ide.eclipse.adt.feature.group 0.0.0' but it could not be found
