Good idea, and it shouldn't be too hard to implement.

Major drawback would be the horizontal limitation of the style.

960px in our case. You're right, we should keep this in mind. But if it's easy to implement, we could give it a try.

I ported a rudimentary version of the "Kieker style" to the trac.
Any further changes wanted/needed?
E.g., I did not change the color of links or the style of headings on this page.
Furthermore, should we include some backlinks to the main Kieker page somewhere? (Yes, but where?)
We probably need a link to the legal disclaimer here as well.

First of all: thanks a lot, Arnd/Maven --- looks really nice!

Is it possible to
1. Add a link Kieker Web Site to the very left of Trac's top menu panel (the one that already contains the Trac links logged in as XY, Logout, Preferences, Help/Guide, About Trac)?
1. Add the footer from Kieker Web Site but including only the links Contact, Legal Notice + the SourceForge logo?

Oh, I just checked the feasibility, Jan created the new layout.

Both added (the logo now links to our hp)

Looks great!
It might be a good idea to set a bold font for the Login, Preferences, etc. buttons to improve the readability.
Is there anything else to do? Otherwise I'd disable Jan's account on Chakotay.

Yes, looks really nice!
Minor: The search field overlaps with the text in the header (see attachment:trac-search-overlap.png)

too bad. Looks fine here. I will move the search field to the top of the page.
JIRA Issue: KIEKER-534 Web site header also for Trac? Original Reporter: Andre van Hoorn
I've seen project Tracs that are integrated into project web site, especially in terms of the layout. One idea would be to use the web site's header for this trac.
