JIRA Issue: KIEKER-1311 Comparison of monitoring/profiling tools Original Reporter: Andre van Hoorn

Various monitoring/profiling tools exist with similar/different objectives and features. On our [RelatedWork] page, we maintain a (incomplete) list of tools. It would be nice to provide an up-to-date overview based on a classification to be defined.

At the University of Stuttgart, we offer a "Special Research" (Fachstudie; part of the B.Sc. Software Engineering; 6. semester) together with the NovaTec GmbH, Echterdingen on this topic (details). NovaTec also develops a free (not open source) profiling tool, called inspectIT.
