Hello,

I am not a specialized lawyer but you made project license GPL (coming from original MIT which is ok) but have a "non-commercial restriction" which came from a commit three days ago. Non-commercial cannot be combined with GPL see https://opensource.stackexchange.com/questions/7397/restrict-gplv3-to-non-commercial-use

I also made a ticket in main repo because in my opinion it is similar problem with MIT: See: https://github.com/Fanghua-Yu/SUPIR/issues/51

For your project I suggest to fork version three days ago which was MIT only from main project and do not merge other changes from main project anymore here making this as an independent project. So it should be fine.

Well this is awkward, I admit I didn't even think on that and just used my default. I think I will wait to see how they respond to your ticket.

they changed license in the meantime: https://github.com/Fanghua-Yu/SUPIR/blob/master/LICENSE not good :( In my opinion it's possible for the original owner to claim that the initial release under the MIT License was a mistake. In such cases, the legal status of the code may become uncertain, and resolving disputes could involve legal proceedings. I suggest seeking legal advice from experts specializing in intellectual property law or just delete this repo here as it is.

any news on this? The SUPIR people made an official statement in the meantime that it is non-commercial only. Any solution would be great here - have you contacted an expert?

I honestly have no time or interest to worry about this, I will just match their license.
