Printing the PDFs [question] #33

Closed royalstream closed 8 years ago

royalstream commented 8 years ago

I would like to know if it's OK to send the PDFs to a printing company. Call me old-fashioned but I read better that way.

Assuming the answer is yes, please let me know if a new commit is right around the corner so I can wait for it before paying for the printing.

Yes, feel free to print this! (Just like rust, the book, and my versions of it are open source under MIT/Apache2. I think you could even sell it if you wanted to.)

I don't have any plans to update the PDFs for at least a month. Except for obvious errors (that may be fixed in the online version), the current PDF should still be a good way to learn Rust 1.8.

Steve is working on a 2nd edition of the book, though, which you will also be able to buy as dead tree 😄 Steven notifications@github.com schrieb am Fr., 15. Apr. 2016 um 23:15:

I'll close this issue, but would love it if you could share a picture of the book when you get it from your printer!

royalstream commented 8 years ago

I absolutely will, especially because I have a great idea for the front cover.

Thanks!!

Here they are as promised :)

The cover is cool.

Wow, those are amazing, @royalstream!

Thanks! I love that metallic horse sculpture, I think it somehow captures the feeling of the rust language.

@killercup Hi, just wondering, do you have any plans on updating the PDFs again? As I'm thinking of printing it as well.

killercup commented 7 years ago

Not at the moment, sorry. Feel free to make a PR to update the sources though!
