Video not playing when I click on the subtitles. #406

I don't know what I did, or if it was the latest chrome update. When I click on a subtitle, it goes to the correct timestamp, but it doesn't autoplay. This was working fine a few hours ago. When I clicked, it would autoplay on the timestamp of the subtitle. I now need to click twice.

Did I mess something up? I can't find anything I can change on the settings.

Edit: I have "seek to beginning of current or last subtitle" on, it's the closest thing to a setting related to this I could find.

Are you seeing this with streaming video or local video files?

Local video files. I tested it on another profile and even on a beta installation of chrome. I get the same problem every time.

I actually have no idea how asbplayer was auto-playing on seek for you before. I have not released any changes in weeks and the behavior has almost always been to pause when seeking through the subtitle list.

Can you explain why the auto-play behavior is so important to you? That could motivate adding a setting to control this behavior.

I go back a lot to listen to the lines. Having to press play again just takes me out of the flow when I am focusing on listening (I can thank ADHD for that). Autoplay also worked very well with the auto-pause at the end function. I click on the subtitle when I want to play it, and it pauses at the end. I can then mine it. Listening to music (anime openings) with autoplay was also great. I changed my play hotkey from space to Q, so it's less painful to hit play when I click on a new subtitle. It's still not ideal.

On another note, is there a way to control the volume of mined audio? I had to make an anki script to lower volume of the files from asbplayer because the volume is way too high when I mine from Evangelion. It would be easy to lower the volume, but my deck has a lot of cards from visual novels. I asked this on an old post but it was probably not the correct place.

I would really appreciate autoplay support. I had been cleaning my chrome and removing a lot of extensions I had no use for. I think one of them was messing with asbplayer.

Thank you for the replies and for the amazing software. It takes the pain out of watching anime with Japanese subs.
