Work out why map not displaying in Safari 5.0.2 #17

No errors showing up in the inspector but when I visit carbonmap.org/demo at the Guardian then I see the site but no map!

Oh wow. Why do the Guardian use an old version of Safari? It's going to be impossible to figure it out without an affected system to play with.

Possibly because Safari 5.0.2 only supports inline SVG in strict XHTML.
