This colorful terracotta tile mural, chronicling the history of Monterey, California, was created by Guillermo Wagner Granizo in 1984. The panoramic mural is displayed on the west wall of the Monterey Conference Center and features dozens of scenes across centuries of equally colorful history in (Alta) California’s first capital.
There is a donor mural recognizing community support for The Monterey Mural on-site, currently immediately north of the Mural on the same wall. We need a high quality photograph to include in a future website enhancement; see the project “Donors and Donor Tiles”. I’m not aware of any existing photographic record.
