Android Does Not Respond to Touch #17

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Boot Android
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect when touching the screen I would get some sort of feedback, but
nothing happens. I can't launch applications, I can't close popups, can't
bring up the menu. There is no response to touch.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
IPHODROID 0.6 R10 on iPhone 2G 3.1.3 jailbroken/unlocked with PwnageTool 3.5.

Please provide any additional information below.
I am able to unlock the screen via the home button, and pushing the home button
brings up the Android menu once past the unlock screen, so I know the system is
not locking up. There's just no touch response.

I have the same issue, it seems that when I start up the iphodroid app on my
macbook (10.6.4) and run trought the wizard that everything is fine. what I've
noticed that step 3 almost never appears in the terminal.
I've redownloaded the app several times and once I had that step 3 appeared but
with an error.
If i recall Zephyr is what's being extracted/copied on to the iphone and if i'm
not mistaken that's the touchscreen driver.
I'm wondering if someone could make a work around by finding out (or telling
us) where to put the bin file if you extract if from your own iphone using
Dripwn.app or if this is even possible.

@AskaniX

I've noticed the same thing too. Zephyr driver is not found or not getting
installed.

Add me to the list of those with touch input not working. I'm using an iPhone
3G with iOS 4 and the latest r12b release of iphodroid.

Restoring to 3.1.3 and running redsn0w again with 3.1.2 didn't fix the
touchscreen for mine. Seems to work great other than that :P

It appears that /usr/lib/libintl.8.dylib is missing or at least it was for me,
which causes iphodroid not to install properly . I fixed this by loading
midnight commander which includes /usr/lib/libintl.8.dylib from cydia and then
running iphodroid again.

Hope this helps

No touchscreen here either however I had to use the manual process since I
couldn't get iPhoDroid to work. Has anyone tried extracting the touchscreen
driver from the R9 release and then using the manual method with the latest
iDroid release (0.2)? I wonder if it's just a wrong carried over driver.

I'm getting the same problem, bit weird, spent ages trying to get android on
there last night, then I came across iphodroid (very nice by the way!) and now
I can't get the touch screen to work either, I tried version r11 and r12, but
neither cured it, I even tried 6cachet's suggestion with the libintl.8.dylib
file, that didn't cure it either. Any suggestions or fixes yet?

I am running a 2G with 3.1.2 broken using redsn0w 0.9.2 btw. I noticed the
newest release of iPhoDroid dropped support for the 2G phones so I switched to
the manual method after R11 didn't work for me.

Okay so I had the same problem, when directly using R12 with a pwned 3g running
iOS4 but had cell connection to my network (Rogers). I decided to try what
someone else said had worked:
1. Install Using R11 - After this touch worked
2. Install Using R12 - Touch worked in Froyo (2.2) but now I've lost my
cellular connection.

Is there an R12 version that's compatible with the 2G phones yet? I see all
the downloads are tagged for 3G.

for those of you can't get the touch screen to work please follow these steps:
1) Make sure when you run IPhoDroid 0.6 R12 (3G). Look closely @ Step 3-4 make
sure the package installed status say [OK] instead of "can't find or extract
package" (or package is missing.
2) if that happen please run IPhoDroid again and let's the program re-install
the package until you see [OK] status.
3) ALso, remember to boot back to Iphone and update Core application.
4) please keep in mind that if you select "Hack","Developer", or "User" in
Cydia when it first start then the package will look totally difference.
5) if that the case please go to "MANAGE" > "SETTING" in your cydia and change
to "HACKER"
6) redownload OPENSSH
7) reboot your phone and run the "INSTALL" at the boot screen.
8) AFTER everything finish please boot back to Froyo (hopefully i spell it
right).
9) everything should be ok.

PS: please keep in mind and pay attention closely when running IPhoDroid @ step
3-4 : if you see [OK] when IPhoDroid extract the Froyo and others package then
that's mean you are ok. If you see "missing package" please re-run IPhoDroid.

If you still have problem please post back here.

My current Status: T-mobile
Version : 4.0 (8A293)
Model: MB046LL
Modem Filmware: 05.13.04
Jailbreak using: redsn0w

OK GUYS READ ALL YOUR MESSAGES AND I SPENT ALL NIGHT LAST NIGHT TRYING TO FIX
THIS TOUCHSCREEN PROBLEM!!! AND I DID IT. FOLLOW MY STEPS CAREFULLY.
nathanielmalone632 and wilsonbnguyen ARE PARTIALLY RIGHT BUT THERE ARE A FEW
IMPORTANT FILES/STEPS YOU NEED.

1)JAILBREAK YOUR IPHONE USING EITHER REDSN0W,PWNTOOL
2)OPEN CYDIA AND CHOOSE THE "HACKER" OPTION AND DO A "COMPLETE UPGRADE"
3)DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL "OPENSSH" AND "MIDNIGHT COMMANDER" THEN MAKE SURE YOUR
CYDIA IS UPDATED.ESPECIALLY "CORE UTILITIES"
4)ONCE U ALL DONE UPGRADING CYDIA AND INSTALLING THOSE 2 PACKAGES, U NEED TO
GET A FEW FILES.
1ST GO TO http://www.macroplant.com/iphoneexplorer/ AND GET "IPHONE EXPLORER"
GO TO http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MGY3NY74 AND DOWNLOAD THE "FROYO IMAGES" TO
YOUR DESKTOP
download a program called "RECBOOT" that will save u time entering and exiting
recovery mode
Set your iPhone’s auto-lock to “Never” for now.
SSH to your iPhone using "iphone explorer" and navigate to your root folder
Copy all the files from the "froyo images" folder to /private/var
Copy all of the files from http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WYIIVJKB to a new
folder called “firmware”

Now run "iphodroid" and pay close attention to steps 3 and 4 making sure that
it finds the images and files and just follow the iphodroid instructions
when you're done with everything the first time you have to run the option
"INSTALL" at the iphone boot screen and when you're done with that just select
FROYO and enjoy a fully functional ANDROID on your iphone with sounds and wifi
enabled. enjoy guys. if you need help or are unclear on anything here just let
me know. richard
