Issues with summary text sidebar #128

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

Text too long for page, has [ at end:
http://cubist.cs.washington.edu/~kshayk/ui/wikiSearch.php?s=ship
http://cubist.cs.washington.edu/~kshayk/ui/wikiSearch.php?s=Varieties_of_Chinese

Text too long for page
http://cubist.cs.washington.edu/~kshayk/ui/wikiSearch.php?s=Bill%20Gates

[ at end of summary text:
http://cubist.cs.washington.edu/~kshayk/ui/wikiSearch.php?s=Romanian%20language
http://cubist.cs.washington.edu/~kshayk/ui/wikiSearch.php?s=Chechen%20people

Clicking on links doesn't work (doesn't query our system):
http://cubist.cs.washington.edu/~liemdinh/cse403-wi11-wikimaps/ui/wikiSearch.php
?s=argentina

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expect there to be no erroneous characters like [ at the end of summary text.
The summary text should fit the page and should not cause scrolling when a
browser window is maximized.

Clicking on links should always work.

The issue where the summary text is capturing the whole top of the article
sometimes manifests when you click on an article, go to full article view, then
hit the back button until you end up back at the map.

See screenshot attached.

The issue with the [ at the end of the summary text seems to have been fixed.

It's just the length of the summary text and the failure to truncate in certain
cases that's the issue now.
