No loading "spinner" in map area to indicate map is loading #154

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.  Search for an uncached item
2.  Wait for map to load (map area remains blank until then)
3.  No spinner is displayed in the map area

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expect the loading spinner that used to display in the map area to still show 
up and indicate that the map is loading.

There should also be a loading spinner in the mini-map area to indicate when 
that's loading.
