I actually the same error ID TVAPP-00100
as the link above.
https://appuals.com/error-tvapp-00100-inside-xfinity/ mentions rebooting the router might help. I did reboot the router. Not sure if that took effect or not but I did see the problem is gone.
Closing for now.
Problem
ComCast/Xfinity app on Samsung 8 TV gets stuck saying "
Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again
".Tried but not resolving

" button, screen goes back to the "usual" Xfinity title that I see for seconds when initializing, but instead of several seconds the screen never moves on to anything (I think I waited for a minute or so).Workaround
