Happened this morning.
This time after suspension, it didn't black out but the resolution was weird. I had to systemctl restart gdm3.service
.
Happened again.
Happened again.
Hm, is DP-1 the external monitor that I use at home? Unsure though, indeed the workflow has been the following and the issue consistently has occured the past few times when I opened the laptop outside of the home:
systemctl suspend
at home while the external monitor was connected via HDMI.I tested the suspension workflow, this time without the external monitor. It worked, and in syslog
I don't see DP-1
nor any DP-x.
So potential workaround:
Today I saw the following, after 1) suspending w/o external monitor, 2) resuming w/o external monitor. I was able to log on though.
Could not switch the monitor configuration
could not set the configuration for CRTC 62
Workaround in https://github.com/kinu-garage/hut_10sqft/issues/835#issuecomment-1603341251 has been stably working for a week.
This workaround requires just a little bit of care every time I unplug the computer off of the dock. Ideally I don't even want to care about it but I don't want to spend more time in digging now. Closing for now.
Issue
As the title reads, monitor remains blacked out often when resuming from suspension.
