Thanks very much for the PR. I did not know about :default as an expected option - but its a good idea. Merged and will push an update in the next 24 hours.

I have published ex_money_sql version 1.4.3 with the following changelog entry:

Bug Fixes

Don't propogate a :default option into the t:Money from the schema. Fixes #14. Thanks to @emaiax.
