Inability to specify units for quantity or dosage #5

The user guide states that users are unable to enter units for dosage or quantity. This is a big feature flaw as it could be very confusing for users. For example, if a user is new to the medicine and they are unfamiliar with it, not being able to see if the medication in a tablet or a syrup through the list would make it very confusing for the user to use the app. To make the app more user friendly, it would be critical to input the units to diffrentiate between different forms of medication such as tablets, syrup or perhaps puffs from an inhaler.

Team's Response

Thank you for the suggestion. It will be a useful feature that we will be considering down the road.

At of the current implementation, we choose not to implement the unit to be used for dosage/quantity, otherwise this will introduce additional research into all the different types of medications and checks into whether the intake dosage/quantity matches the unit specified in the total quantity, especially during modification of the medication data.

At this stage, we can reasonably expect the user to know if the quantity pertains to liquid or tablet medications.

Reason for disagreement: I think the benefit for the app was for people who take a lot of medication daily. Thus, if the app was to truly make the lives of the user easier, it would be more beneficial to specify the units of measurement so that user who take a lot of medication do not have to be worried by the units.
