In this case the radio stream you were listening too is no longer available and
the second open is treated by the server as mp3. Can you confirm that the
crash only occurs in this case (playing remote ogg stream, followed by playing
bad mp3 stream)?

I hope this will be fixed in the 1.4 release version - please test

i tested it a few times. the radio stream is still available, if i restart
squeezelite without changing anything else it immediately starts playing!

and it crashes only in this case, at least from my experience.

Is this with the latest 1.4 release?

Can you post what the radio station is - all I have is the ip address which
doesn't seem to work for me

it happened on these radio stations:
http://opml.radiotime.com/Tune.ashx?id=s8235&partnerId=16
http://opml.radiotime.com/Tune.ashx?id=s8514&partnerId=16

but it seems gone with 1.4

one other thing: wwwwoooowwwwww, you somehow got the cpu load down from 30% to
12% on my raspberry pi!!
