Still an issue in beta 14
Original comment by joshc...@gmail.com
on 20 Aug 2012 at 5:58
I've noticed (since beta 10) that this only happens once the phone has has
opened the audio channel(s). It is possible to enter an alternate handset mode
before the phone opens the audio stream, but after the call screen appears
(there's a window of about 2 seconds). Any action taken after the stream has
initiated results in the mic being muted.

Using R10 and I'm experiencing this. Cannot use speaker phone during call. It
mutes the mic and I'm unable to get mic to work again during the call.
Fully wiped before flashing.

I am on R14 now and it's still occurring. I have done more testing and have
found that this bug only occurs on outgoing calls and not incoming calls. I
have detailed the scenarios in the post linked below:

Sorry to report it is still there on R23 (after full wipe etc.). Really too bad
(along with the headset controls), as I love this ROM: very good looking,
smooth, fast, and excellent battery life.

Good to hear it is working for you, but I definetely cannot make it work here.
Have you updated the radio or are using the one provided with the ROM?
Mine is '12.69a.60.29U_26.17.14.11_M
Thanks!

Just to confirm: I had this Problem at least from r23 or 24 until and including
r28, I then switched to the PACman R18 rom (missed the AOKP feats) and this Bug
is almost gone. Almost, because it occured only when I called one person (but
anytime I called him)

I have found the fix for this problem with the help of this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33931143&postcount=13500
what you need to do in order to be able to use speakerphone normally(so the
other person can hear you) is to enable bass boost in DSPmanager, under
BLUETOOTH. enabling bass boost in speaker or headset won't change a thing. I
dont know why it works but it works! publish the soulution and give me
credit(my nick is ofeklivny in xda and other places) because I can't publish in
XDA(new user under 10 posts). My BLUETOOTH bass boost is set to slight.(you can
still use bass boost in headset or speaker if you want to)

you know what? its not working if your making a call, only when your receiving
one and the peson I am talking with is hearing himself.. really annoying. If
this is fixed than the rom is perfect!

this bug still persists. Putting someone on speakerphone mutes me and taking
speakerphone off doesn't fix the problem

Hi,
Same issue on R30 - with full wipe before flash
Test with the Rom Radio PD98IMG_12.69.60.29_26.17.14.11_M too with no effect.

JT R30 full wipe, ...17.14.11_M radio & same mute issue.
Tried Base Boost under BLUETOOTH. Also tried turning Bluetooth on to see if
that made a difference. Still, mic is muted when pressing speaker phone and
mute doesn't release when speakerphone is taken off. I continue to hear the
other person without problems.

3.0.62 42 R5 If I plug in headset jack for hands free, I can hear caller but
microphone does not work. Same headset works OK with other phones. Usually see
a symbol appear on phone to indicate headset but that does not happen.
