What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Place or receive a call in SipDroid
2. While on the call and listening via the phone (i.e. NOT on bluetooth and NOT
on speakerphone) turn the volume up high
3. Let the other person speak (the echo is on their end)
What is the expected output?
That I can hear the other person more loudly, but that the microphone is not
affected.
What do you see instead?
The other person starts getting an echo when they speak (until I turn down my
own listening volume, then they don't get an echo)
What version of the product are you using?
Version 2.9 Beta
On what device/operating system?
Nexus 4, Android 4.2.1
Which SIP server are you using?
PBXes
What happens with PBXes? (Since I'm using PBXes, exactly what I stated above)
Which type of network are you using?
Wifi network (50mbps down, 11 mbps up consistently. 0% packet loss, 0 jitter,
3ms latency)
Please provide any additional information below.
I have no idea why this is happening but I have tow guesses:
1. It could be the sound vibrates in the phone (perhaps the Nexus 4 glass on
the front/back?) and is picked up by the microphone (probably not, but possible)
2. The Sipdroid app is somehow using the volume for speaker to also be volume
for microphone.
Also, under Audio/Video settings, I have:
* Earpiece Gain: Medium
* Microphone Gain: Low(no echo)
