mtpaint it's a paint program for creating icons and pixel art. I have searched for an alternative to gimp
and it provides some features which are enough for my needs.
Note about the build
As mentioned on irc, I have tested the build in a chroot and it compiles without problem.
But I was unable to start the gui in a chroot. I can provide a backtrace to search where the
problem is, but on my system (outside the chroot) the gui work without problem. Perhaps there is a limitation in chroot I don't know or there is a bug in a chroot environment. I didn't ask more on irc, because I don't
think it's worth investing some time for searching the problem in a chroot.
Version
I have choosed to install it directly from git. I wanted to build the version 3.50.09, but it correspond
to a specific git commit. I don't think it's possible in the sources to retrieve a given git commit.
Probably it should be done in the build. My proposal is to use the git version and to switch to
a release if a new one is done in the future.
