Bug: Plugins in the _plugins folder aren't working #158

I'm trying to add this splashtag plugin but it is not recognised by the theme.

I get a liquid exception when I try to use it: Liquid Exception: Liquid syntax error (line 3): Unknown tag 'splash' in /Users/USER/Projects/FOLDER/_posts/2019-02-23-test.md

Maybe the plugin not support the new version of Jekyll.
