Import of GND authority data records for persons is missing in Kitodo 3.x / Import von Personennormsätzen aus der GND fehlt in Kitodo 3.x

In Kitodo 2, it is possible to import GND authority data records for persons using their GND URI. This is done as part of structuring data in the "metadata" section -> "add person". The function is frequently used at SBB, for example for illustrators or contributors of individual constituents of a work. My SBB colleagues sorely miss this feature in the new Kitodo version. We would like to see it implemented in version 3.

In Kitodo 2 ist es möglich, Normdatensätze für Personen aus der GND mittels GND-URI zu importieren. Das geschieht im Rahmen der Strukturdatenerfassung im Abschnitt „Metadaten“ unter „Person hinzufügen“. Die Funktion wird bei uns in der SBB gut genutzt, etwa für Illustrator:innen oder Beiträger:innen einzelner Bestandteile eines Werks. Meine SBB-Kolleg:innen vermissen dieses Feature in der neuen Kitodoversion schmerzlich. Wir wünschen uns eine Implementierung in der 3er-Version.

The same applies to the import of structural data elements from the catalog. In our institution, we import attached works from CBS in the metadata editor ("Add structural elements from Opac").

Dasselbe gilt auch für den Import von Strukturdatenelementen aus dem Katalog. In unserer Einrichtung importieren wir anhängende Werke aus dem CBS im Metadateneditor ("Strukturelemente aus Opac hinzufügen").

@Westedt : I think it would be better to create an own issue for "import of structural data elements from the catalog".

First, discussions about the functionality, ... will become confusing. Second, an issue can only be closed, if both features are realized. This does not comply with the current approach to close issues by the related pull request.

@Westedt Short question: Is this only about a mechanism getting the name data for the provided GND identifier? Or is this also about a interface to get the GND Url for a typed in name? (like this one: https://ws.gbv.de/suggest/gnd/)

@BartChris It's about a mechanism getting the name data for the provided GND identifier, as you can see in the screenshot of version 2.

Following up on @BartChris comment, I'd like to suggest that searching the GND with names to retrieve the corresponding GND-ID should also be part of this feature. As it is envisioned now, this feature does only reduce the risk of typos. You'd still have to search the GND someplace else to get the id. A real benefit would be to enable searching the GND with a name from within Kitodo.
