I have a friend on my PS3 friend's list that isn't having issues either. I just
want to know why I am.

My Move.me application will work perfectly fine in the dark, but if the lights
are turned on and you recalibrate, the application freezes.

Hi,

I can't reproduce this on my machine. Does anyone have more information?

Is a client application connected?
What are the lighting conditions in your room like? (Mine is an office with
fluorescent lighting above)

If we can figure out how to reproduce this, I will fix it and update the
application.

Thanks,
John

No client connections. It seems to be lighting related. The app works fine with
a sunlit filled room but freezes if it is ran with only dim artificial lighting.

I will keep trying to reproduce this, but so far I haven't been able to.

This might help, At first I did not have any problems with the Move.me app,
But later On I had my console to lock up after the move was configured, I
noticed that if you didnt have a game in the blu-ray drive it would lock up,
Insert a game and restart and would have no problems at all.

Hi,

That isn't likely to be the cause because Move.Me never, ever accesses the
Blu-Ray drive.

Thanks,
John

Same thing is happening to me, I can make a video of myself and post it on
YouTube so that you can see all of the steps, as well as the type of lighting
in the room causing it to freeze. (The PS3 doesn't crash, perse, because
holding the power button still properly shuts down the PS3... so it feels more
like a memory leak to me.)

Hey guys, I just got access to and started playing with move.me today. I seem
to also be affected by this issue. I can readily reproduce it without fail. It
is almost certainly a lighting issue particularly the lighting present during
calibration. The application worked fine this morning while my den was sunlit.
But this evening if my room was only lit with a corner lamp application freezes
about a second or half a second after calibration every time. If I turn on the
overhead light it works fine. If I perform the calibration with the overhead
light on and then turn it off the application will continue to work fine in the
dim light.

I shot a quick video of the issue here is a link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qw2Q-3ASpTo

I hope this helps.

Thanks,
Jacob

Hi,

I've pushed a new release that should be up on PSN in 2-3 weeks. It fixes the
crash that has been reported here.

Out of curiosity, what caused the issue? :)

Every frame from the PlayStation Eye is compressed into a JPEG image so that it
can be sent over for augmented reality applications. There was a bug in how I
was feeding in the image that could cause the JPEG encoder to crash.
