That error feels more like an error in your setup/environment. The filesystem doesn't seem to be writable. Try debugging from the shell directly seeing why is that.

Closing as solved by the original reporter. Problem was the main.py
file was missing.
Also updated the title to be more specific with the error rather than using the generic one
