Crashes at this statement in the android gps.py
from plyer.platforms.android import activity
After digging further into this I discovered the plyer version from pip does NOT work as it uses the old org.renpy.android.PythonActivity
. If I change the requirements to use git+https://github.com/kivy/plyer.git
instead of plyer
it works!
Update: Also need to add android
to requirements.
Thanks for reporting this, looks like plyer needs a pypi release.
I still have the same issue when trying to run gps.configure(). I tried android_old toolchain as a last resort while tinkering and it suddenly worked.
Getting JNI crash using android_new toolchain.
Works with old toolchain so I assume it is a p4a issue.
Update: It's occuring when calling plyer.gps.configure()
