I'll start by saying that I 100% believe the feature is legitimate and useful, as it is a major step forward for kiosk application and some times of groupware.
I think some other browsers made the wrong choice in fully eliminating it, and there is a lot of value in having a FOSS browser that has full parity with vanilla Chromium.
However, I think browsers should follow Vivaldi's lead and allow users to control it in site settings, and many may even be most comfortable if this is disabled by default.
