Improvement for blind people? #19

User feedback... I have no clue what is going here... why wikimed behaves differently like Kiwix?

I am a visually impaired user of the braille note touch, an android tablet by
Humanware which is designed for the visually impaired.
I have been attempting to use the "kiwix" app, but I believe you use a "web
view" when the article is loaded. This is in contrast to another of your apps
called "medical wikipedia (offline)", which I can use fully and properly. In other
words, I can download any content in kiwix, but it's when an article is loaded
that I can't read it: a sighted person tells me that the article did indeed load,
but I can't access it. I just read a "web view". This does not happen in the app
"medical wikipedia", where I can access it fully. Could you please try and fix
this, perhaps by discovering the difference, if any, between the way articles are
presented in the different apps.
Finally, I'd like to thank all the volunteers for the truly wonderful and
amazing work you do, both editing the articles and making them offline and, well,
everything!
Thanks again for everything, look forward to response!

Extra note from the gentleman: " I am running kiwix version 2.2 and wikimed version 2016-10. Really hoping this will get sorted, thanks very much for everything!"

@MohitMaliFtechiz This is a very old ticket, but would you have means to check that Kiwix could be properly used by visually impaired users?

@kelson42 Currently, I do not have a way to check whether it works for visually impaired users or not. I have researched about this tablet and it reads the content from the screen with KNFB Reader, and speaks the content with the help of inbuilt text-to-speech functionality.

The user mentioned that "medical Wikipedia (offline)" is working fine on his device which is in the English language.

a sighted person tells me that the article did indeed load,

The article is loaded in kiwix app as the user mentioned but he is unable to read the content with inbuilt text-to-speech functionality. The user has not confirmed which ZIM file he was using in kiwix app. Because there might be the possibility the downloaded ZIM file is in another language and that language is not installed the inbuilt text-to-speech functionality.

I tried to check the difference between both files but user was using the kiwix version 2.2 which is not listed in the release tab https://github.com/kiwix/kiwix-android/releases?page=4. but I have checked in version 2.4 we are using the same code to read the content in kiwix, custom apps.

It is a very old ticket and in the meantime, there is a possibility that the device manufacturer has fixed this issue. Hence it would be better to confirm this with the user.
