On the one hand, it could add an interesting element of revengeful gameplay. Maybe rivalries and alliances? On the other hand, anonymity could be nice. For example, I can imagine that people might not necessarily want others to know that they are invested enough in the success of their rant to apply items. Even though they are, they may want to pretend to be too cool for that.
