Decide best strategy for EPICS-enabling LabVIEW VIs

As a member of the ISIS Computing Group, I want to decide how to EPICS enable LabVIEW VIs.

I can create 32-bit or 64-bit EPICS Client VIs using Third Party code.
I can create 32-bit EPICS Client VIs using NI code. (The comparison of these has been done already, although there may be other third party solutions, I have since found the one on the Observatory Sciences website. Existing comparisons viewable at: http://www.facilities.rl.ac.uk/isis/projects/icap/Progress%20Reports/Summary%20report%20of%20the%20interaction%20between%20LabVIEW%20and%20EPICS.doc

I can only create 32-bit EPICS Server VIs using NI code. There are no third party server applications for EPICS available. I can generate EPICS Servers for VIs using NI code, or via DCOM access.

Define steps needed for generic NI EPICS Server(s).
Define steps needed for generic DCOM EPICS Server(s).
Try to build a Generic NI EPICS Server.
Try to build a Generic DCOM server.
Compare the results of the two generic servers.

In discussion on 25/04/2013, we agreed:

New system for CHIPIR:

LabVIEW 2012, 32-bit
DCOM EPICS aware
No projects in LabVIEW
Existing LabVIEW style for VIs
XML file required

New system for LARMOR (and CHIPIR is expected to migrate/evolve to this system too):

create a tool to convert VIs to be EPICS-aware (save as LabVIEW 2012, 32-bit)
LabVIEW 2012, 32-bit
XML file required
can have projects in LabVIEW
Need to ensure these VIs get backed up somewhere
Targeted drivers for CHIPIR only
