Satisfactory Update - Ok to modify for Compatibility? #44

Just checking to see if you have plans to update this mod for satisfactory update 4? If not, is it ok to have someone else modify the existing mod? I didn't see any work in progress so figured i would check..

Judging by the fact that there have been no commits and almost no replies to issues in almost a year now, it is probably safe to say this is abandoned and someone else should take it over. I get it, people have life to deal with sometimes, but we shouldn't be having to ask and wonder, they should have said hey I can't work on this anymore, does someone else in the community want to take it over.

Essentially, just going dark is completely against what OSS is about and the middle finger to the community. At least this one is open source and can be modified. In my opinion, all mods should be required to always be open source for this very reason. The battle isn't modifying the mod to make it compatible, that is the easy part, it will be convincing ficsit.app to upload the fixed version.

maybe thats a true story... but, im not a github user... its needed for the sml and I answer every question that is sent to me personally over Discord. and please remember, its a hard corona time. so, yeah, sorry about that

... plans to update? - YES! ... someone else modify the existing mod? - NO! Parts of the Mod are commercial Stuff i have rights reserved from marketplace and some content from friends from the game dev industry... but, any Help and new Members are welcome ;)

Well, it has been 3+ months since you said you planned to update, but more then a year since it was last updated. Update 5 will be out and then we will be in this mess all over again.

Anyone can use items from the market place, give me a list and I will go purchase them myself. I will gladly help out to get this updated. I work in this engine for a living already, it really isn't that complicated, it's a mod, most of which is content.

Also, if your "friends" gave you some content to put in a mod, then they really don't care what you do with it, obviously. It isn't like you are creating a commercial product you are trying to sell, so none of that matters anyways.

I would just message you directly on Discord, but this apparently isn't your handle on there. Hell, I will even secretly fix it for you and you can take the credit. It isn't like you can ever even attempt to make money from it so I really don't get why people try to hoard them to themselves when the community is willing to help you fix it.

So hit me up to help, update it yourself, or just release the mod all together so someone can update it.
