can't edit passage main text on ipad #140

I can type or edit a passage title or tags with no problems--arrow keys on external keyboard work, delete key works, etc. But the main text of the passage doesn't recognize either my external or on-screen keyboard in any normal way. After many tries, sometimes I can use the delete key and type text, but it's very unpredictable. The arrow keys on my external keyboard aren't recognized at all. I would REALLY love to be able to write and edit games on my iPad, but so far it's a non-starter. Am I missing something really simple here? I'm not a programmer but am reasonably technically competent.

More info: I'm using an iPad 4. I've tried editing Twine passage text with Safari, Chrome and Mercury, all with no success.

I'm having the same issue--the text box is completely erratic. When I do manage to get the on-screen keyboard to show up, it doesn't work--autocorrect and predictive text are disabled and pressing SHIFT once functions as CAPS-Lock. Same thing in Chrome and Safari.

I even tried it in an Apple Store on an iPad Pro and had the same issue. It's a real shame because the iPad would be a great Twine machine (even supports file importing now) otherwise.

Hey, I'm seeing the same thing. Do you know what is causing this?

Also, in my tiny test, Chrome seemed to work better than Safari -- though it's not perfect. Do you see the same?

It seems like there's something weird going on with the editor that is preventing the keyboard from coming up on iOS. Just to see if you see the same issue, does double-tapping on the text area work?

I've updated the library we're using for the text editor to the latest here: http://twinery.org/2cm54/. I'm curious if it's any better for you -- the keyboard is still not showing up for me unless I double tap.

This looks like a bug with Twine 2.3, and because of that I'm closing it. Please re-open or create a new issue if you find this is still a problem in 2.4.
