Having both PostScript and TrueType contour directions between glyphs alone is no issue these days, but it bites back with unfilled overlaps in composites. In fact, sketching with those is exactly how I spotted it. I didn't touch the recent Century Catalogue part, though, as this will be reworked anyway.
