More than one person has written asking if we can show heat maps based on selected indicators.

However, the space is being underutilized as it currently only shows points that one can click on. If instead of points this was a cartogram (or a chloropleth, though the former makes more sense) then people could learn a lot about Karnataka's education just by playing with the map feature. A cartogram could be used to great effect here, to visualise all the various metrics that you have developed. Good rule of thumb is to allow people to visualise but normalised and non-normalised data, with an emphasis on the former. (ie numbers that are normalised based on population, area or whatever relevant metric.) This cartogram would give a visitor a near-instantaneous understanding of problem areas and how performance on any metric is spread geographically. You can do the cartogram at district/constituency and any other levels you can, and the easy part is that you don't need shape files!

Yes +1 to this. We need to see how we can implement this as part of the app or make this data visualisation available separately.
