@brendanjmeade cool. I added my understanding based on how I use visco1d for my current project. Fred's designed it to be in two separate steps. The timeseries part is still my speculation - I've only ever queried the code for a single time step. But I think that's a small adjustment from here.
This is fantastic! I'm going to work on compiling visco1d next week. It should be simple but I remember that when I did this last spring/summer I needed to reach to Fred.
I definitely agree that we should provide feedback to the users. print statements everwhere!

@kmaterna Thanks for setting up the repo! I've started a draft flowchart for how we want to create and move things in the README.md. It uses the Github markdown friendly mermaid library. I've based this off of your tutorial. I think the flowchart could still use significant improvement and may be wrong in places.
