hi it would be nice, if we have a new patchbays style with only 2 in (left-rigt) and 2 out (left-right) and with a slider or select box, we can chose the number of the out or in we want, ex : you can chose audio in left : in 1 & rigth : in 8 (1 to32 ) , and the same for out selecte 1 to 32 for right and left, and 0 if you want to desactivte in or out , left or right ( for mono) cu

I don't understand the problem this suggestion solves. Are the sliders in the 8x8 patchbay too small?

(I mean the buttons in the 8x8 patchbay, not the sliders)

I think he's talking about something like how a signal splitter works. So that you can output only the left side of the stereo signal (and make the left side a mono signal, thus centered) or the right side only, or both. Patchbay right now only works in stereo-pairs per bundle. I thnk he needs to pick up left/right separately as mono-signals?

Not quite sure though... :)

Best, tL.

(Actually if that's the case, I was thinking about something similar yesterday, because indeed, very often you need to do that. I was thinking about something like that maybe when the Pan is 0, then only the left signal is used, but centered and vice versa when pan is full right. You can obviously do this with modules, but the module count gets very high. Because of stuff like this where simple utility plugins are needed , it is that I easiy go up to 100 modules per song.. I use BX Control in Radium for this right now for example... https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/products/bx_control_v2.html )

this is just to have a faster audio routine for vst with multi out, if you have 2 in and 2 out per patchbays object, and you can chose directly in and out you want, ex for in : 3&4 (stereo ) and out : 1&2. it's more easy and faster to select out and in with slider or select box, than like now ,you have a lot of pages and for mono it's a good think 0 to mute in or out you want ( for vocoder )

What you can do now is use the 8 preset buttons. (A-E) and save pairs of the patchbay to one preset. For example: I have 0>0 and 1>1 assigned to Preset A, 0>2 and 1>3 to preset B and so on...

That way you can now switch Patchbay Input/Output Configurations with one button press. And you have 8 of them to immediately choose from... And you can now save the whole Patchbay network as .mrec file, so you only have to do that once, which makes the Patchbay much more useful.

This is actually an awesome useful side effect from the new A/B/C.. preset system...
