Would it be better to do this as a website, Readme, or Wiki? All of these options are available for free on GitHub. I could also make an examples directory possibly with some commented she'll scripts?

I don't know, I think REadme is fine for now but totally up to you.

Would be good to have more examples in the readme on how to build different types of databases from different sources.
