"File is read-only" when opening in application #49

I added Metadatics (an MP3 tag editor) as an application to open MP3s. When I open an MP3 with the menu shortcut and try to save changes to the MP3 tags Metadatics gives me a "Cannot save file. The file is read-only" error. If I instead drag the same MP3 onto the Metadatics icon in the dock and perform the same changes I am able to save the MP3 as expected.

I have Finder Locations set up for both my system drive and my external MP3 drive. I'm able to run SS scripts on the MP3s and I'm also able to use the SS app shortcut to open the MP3s in Mixed In Key and that has no problem saving changes it makes to the files.

Hi, thanks for opening this issue. Have you tried opening .mp3 files in multiple locations on your computer/external? All locations have the same problem?

Can you please post a screenshot of the alert, or an exact quote of the error message?

I've downloaded the Metadatics demo app from the website but am unable to reproduce the issue. Service Station opens .mp3 files into the app from my Desktop, and I'm seemingly able to save changes thereafter.

Are you using the Mac App Store version of Metadatics, or the download from their website?

Thanks!
