Offline version of KoBoForm does not work with Chrome #115

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Download the offline version from https://code.google.com/p/kobo/downloads/detail?name=Kobo-win-1.0.22.exe and install it.

  1. Run the program, either from the applications menu or by opening the html file directly in the latest version of Chrome (Version 27.0.1453.93 at the time this report was filed).
  2. Run the program in Firefox, and note that it works as expected. So this is a problem with KoBo in the Chrome web browser.

I expected to see the KoBo Form Designer interface. Instead I see a progress bar with "Please wait while KoBo Form Designer loads"

I am using version 1.022 of the KoBoForm offline on Windows XP. I experience the same issue using the Linux version with the Chromium web browser.

This is really unfortunate timing in light of the recent recommendation to use the Chrome browser ( http://www.kobotoolbox.org/updates/2013/04/java-issues-firefox ). At the present time neither browser works with both the on and off line versions of KoBoForms.

Unclear whether this is a permissions problem with running Java applets in Chrome offline, or if it's a separate issue.
