Has this began prior to upgrading to 14.7? Did you try disabling yabai and reproducing the issue?

Did you try disabling yabai and reproducing the issue? Yes, with yabai disabled problem doesn't occur.

Has this began prior to upgrading to 14.7? No, previously I was running 13.7 (Ventura) and yabai worked fine

If more info is required, I am happy to provide it: without yabai on macOS I feel like someone took off one hand from me.
