has something to do with quadrilinear interpolation

probably because we use a logarithmic alpha, which doesn't make sense

der kreis ist nicht mehr zu erkennen wenn direct lighting + indirect diffuse + indirect specular an ist. er wird dann überdeckt und ist kaum wahrnehmbar.
