I wonder if you need lambda for your project. If that's purely for study purposes it should be fine, but the integration to an existing server app can be a bit tough

Lambda will not be used for the MERN stack project. I originally planned to replace the MERN stack application with the serverless application though, I removed the plan because of a tight schedule.
