Strange bug repainting the main/sentence windows. #138

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
On my friend's laptop, dragging the waitzar windows (main/sentence only, not
help/memory) around will corrupt the entire display area. (See attached.)
Closing WaitZar does not fix this problem.

Since this doesn't affect the memory windows, this might be a bug with our use
of surfaces; however, I find it odd overall. Will restart and see if the
problem is fixed; if not, will try to upgrade direct x. This laptop has a whole
bunch of bugs (not to mention an Intel graphics card), so I'm not too worried,
but it's probably best to know how to fix this in case another user encounters
it.

Windows Vista 32-bit, T-60 Lenovo.

Restarting makes no difference.

Note that this bug was also present in WZ 1.7 (on this computer).

Will update the graphics driver or direct X and try again.

Upgraded the graphics driver & rebooted. No change.
Performed all relevant Windows Updates & rebooted. No change.

It's worth noting that this bug only appears when Windows Aero is disabled.

On a related note: ONCE (and only once) when I started WZ and opened the main
menu, the User Drawn ("typing") section would only draw correctly when the
mouse was directly over an item.

So weird.... but I can't reproduce the bug.
