Cannot play any video on TV #26

It works when I use Plex on my browser (in the computer that Plex has been installed), but on my TV it does not play. I can browse through my subscriptions, favourites,... but when I click on the video it does not play. I should add that, thumbnails are not displayed in TV, but I don't know if that's an expected thing.

I've got the same issue. This looks like a codec issue.

How can I investigate and fix?

What TV you are use?

This looks like a codec issue to me. My TV support the following for video:
ASF (extensions : .wmv, .asf) : VC1 (WMV3/WMV9) DivX (extension : .divx) : Mpeg4 ASP (MPEG4 Part 2 (divx4, 5,6 ; xVid)) AVI (extension :.avi) : MPEG2, H264 AVC (MPEG4 part 10), Mpeg4 ASP (MPEG4 Part 2 (divx4, 5,6 ; xVid)) QuickTime (extensions : .mov, .m4v) MPEG2 MKV

Same here on my Samsung TV. Getting "Unable to connect to the content server"

I'm having a similar issue where only the video sometimes plays. Other times, just hls related errors. Why can't HLS be streamed as direct play?

This is Plex Server bug. The plugin can not change mode to transcode or force to direct playing.

How is it a Plex server bug? Do you have a reference for it? My default option is "Direct Play", which works as intended for all but YouTube, which gets transcoded.

Ich habe den Samsung TV ES6300. Beim Abspielen eines Videos kommt ganz kurz das Bild und dann eine Meldung, dass der AudioCodec 'AAC' nicht unterstützt wird. Transkodieren könnte helfen, meint das Hinweis Fenster. Hab alle Wiedergabemodi durch und leider funktioniert nichts.
