running bot from classic install #1226

I wanted to branch out and try my luck on classic, the thing is I have some copies of diablo 2 classic (no lod) installed which I want to run the bot on, however it seems that d2bot requires a lod install to work? bot keeps crashing when it tries to run the classic version of the game...

Anyone knows if the bot is capable of running on classic version of the game (no lod installed)?

Not sure - what version of the game does the classic install show on home screen?

game is is updated to newest patch 1.14 (i can play it manually on bnet), below is the interface which is a bit different than lod (i figured it what you mean by home screen?)

yeah one of those screens usually shows version but you confirmed it.

I am running classic but it has LOD installed (the game executes the classic code by itself AFAIK) so if yours isnt working, it must need LOD (assuming you've created the toons as classic toons :) )

I cant open d2bs from here but check the settings of it and see if there is a way to specify classic only. its funny as the scripts check whether classic or expansion and can accomodate either one..

Will do, btw did do you know if autosmurf is comptible with classic?

sorry no idea - not tried it yet. one of the many things on my todo list..

@5noop recommended it to me and I dont think its more detectable than the rest of the bot. from what I understand its just a more tailored script, not necessarily reliant upon packet spoofing.

given that people have used autosmurf this season I wouldnt think it is an issue but open a new thread and ask maybe?
